CLINTON, S.C. -
Records fell Friday (Oct. 2) afternoon at the Blue Hose Invitational as the Savannah College of Art and Design men's cross country team remained unbeaten in 2009. For the third consecutive meet, the Bees swept the individual and team titles.

Freshman Cesar Fernandez Lazaro won his third individual title of the season as he captured the 8K race in a time of 25:59. Lazaro, who finished nearly two minutes ahead of his nearest competition, again lowered the college's 8K record for the second consecutive race. Lazaro, who has taken 61 seconds off the college record in the past two races, lowered his own record by 31 seconds as SCAD took five of the top seven places to win the men's title over four other NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II and NAIA teams with 21 points.

John Sutherland finished third with a time of 28:24 while Ben Harrison was next in a time of 28:29. Ed McDaniel (sixth, 28:58), Nick Curtis (seventh, 29:02) and Patrick Cooley (10th, 29:16) each recorded top-10 finishes. Carl Dominique took 14th place with a time of 29:55 while Dillan Brinlee ran a personal-best time of 29:59 to come in 15th.
