KENNESAW, Ga. -
The Savannah College of Art and Design women's cross country team competed at the KSU Owl Invitational Friday (Oct. 23) at Noonday Park.
   
The Bees finished second out of five teams in the two-mile race with 72 points.Host Kennesaw State University capture the event with 29 points.

Tracy Koch finished in second place in the race with a time of 12:10.28 while teammate Sarah Caskey was next at 12:15.92. Cara Martin was 16th with a time of 13:22.08 followed by Heather Riniker (23rd, 13:54.21), Natalie Johnson (28th, 14:39.17), Tori Aboud (30th, 15:15.95), Megan Merrifield (35th, 16:15.52) and Lauren Souter (36th, 16:24.22).

SCAD returns to action Nov. 7 at The Sun Conference Championship in Babson Park, Fla.

Reed Publications Student-Artist-Athlete of the Week

SAVANNAH, Ga. – Savannah College of Art and Design men’s swimmer Alex Graudins has been named the Reed Publications SCAD Student-Artist-Athlete of the Week ending March 7.

Graudins, a freshman from Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, won two of the three individual national titles for the Bees last week at the NAIA Swimming and Diving National Championships in St. Peters, Mo.

Graudins claimed the first national title for the Bees as he won the 500-yard freestyle in a university-time of 4:27.44. He lowered his own record by nearly six seconds in the win. Graudins also broke his own university record as he won the 1,650 freestyle in a time of 15:42.28. He nearly had another win for the Bees as he came in second place in the 200 freestyle in a university-record time of 1:39.45.

As a team, the Bees finished in fifth place at the meet.
Reed Publications Intramural Athlete of the Week

Intramurals
SAVANNAH, Ga. - XinYu Shang  has been named this week's Reed Publications Intramural Athlete of the Week ending March 7.

Shang, who is the team captain for Team C.S.A. (Chinese Student Association), scored 34 points in the Intramural B Division Championship Tournament Feb. 28. 

 

C.S.A. narrowly defeated Free Agent Two in the semifinal game 47-42 before defeating the Ballers 49-39 for the championship title.
