Putnam earns defensive weekly honor

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Savannah College of Art and Design's
Katie Putnam has been named The Sun Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week ending Oct. 25.
Putnam, a 5-foot-6 midfielder from Brentwood, Tenn., helped the SCAD defense record their third consecutive shutout as the Bees blanked both Ave Maria University and Southeastern University. While the defense has clamped down, SCAD has outscored its opposition 19-0.
Putnam has started in all 14 games for the Bees and has one goal and one assist on the year.
SCAD (8-6-0 overall, 6-2-0 conference) returns to action Sunday (Nov. 1) as they conclude the regular season with a noon match against No. 11 Northwood (Fla.) University at the SCAD Athletics Complex.
