SCAD advances to championship with 3-1 win over Warriors

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Savannah College of Art and Design volleyball team advanced to the championship match of the 2009 The Sun Conference Tournament with a 25-18, 22-25, 25-19 and 25-15 semifinal victory over Webber International University Friday (Nov. 13) evening at the ICI Center.
The Bees, who are the No. 2 seed, improved to 27-7 while the No. 3-seeded Warriors ended their season at 25-9. SCAD will face tournament host and No. 1 seed Embry-Riddle (Fla.) University in the 2 p.m. title match Saturday (Nov. 14) after the Eagles swept Warner University in their semifinal match.
Courtney Shelton led the Bees with 16 kills and eight total blocks while
Olympia Haney added 13 kills and seven digs.
Allison Regas distributed 41 assists while contributing seven digs and three total blocks.
Arynn Nease led the defense with 19 digs while
Danielle Shipe added 11.
Cathryn Gregson added eight kills and three total blocks while
Kendall Nichols added five total blocks.
