ALBANY, Ga. - The Savannah College of Art and Design women's swimming team defeated Darton College 174-103 Saturday (Nov. 21) afternoon.
The Bees improved to 2-1 and will be back in action Dec. 3 as SCAD hosts the annual College Invitational at the Chatham Country Aquatic Center.
The Bees had the fastest times in 11 of the 16 events competed against the Cavaliers, including both relays.
SCAD had two multiple winners in the meet as
Jill Jeffries and
Tori Aboud each won two events.
Jeffries won the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:07.89) and 500 freestyle (5:27.77) events while Aboud tallied victories in the 200 freestyle (1:58.29) and 100 freestyle (55.58) events.
Mary Ashley Krogh (50 backstroke, 29.69),
Liz Roberts (50 breaststroke, 31.88),
Heather Librizzi (100 butterfly, 1:01.01),
Kaycee Corso (100 breaststroke, 1:08.21) and
Melanie Futscher (100 individual medley, 1:03.52) picked up the other wins for SCAD.
