NORMAN, Okla. - The Savannah College of Art and Design moved up nine spots to No. 2 in the final Golf World/Nike Golf Coaches' NAIA Top 25 Poll of the fall season conducted by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

The No. 2 ranking for the Bees is the highest-ever in the history of the program. SCAD was ranked No. 4 in NCAA Division III during 2001.

SCAD enjoyed a successful fall season where the Bees recorded a first, a second and a third in their three events. SCAD capped off their fall with a 20-stroke victory in the Wilmington Island Club Intercollegiate in late October. The Bees defeated the likes of No. 3 Johnson & Wales (Fla.) University, No. 6 University of South Carolina Beaufort, No. 18 Northwood (Fla.) University and No. 23 Webber International University in the event.

Oklahoma City University ends the season as the number one team in the poll, earning 11 of the 13 first-place votes. The Stars won the NAIA Preview, their third tournament title in four starts this fall.

SCAD will return to action Feb. 8 at the Start-2-Finish Invitational in Sebring, Fla.
