SAVANNAH, Ga. -
The Wingate University men's swimming team claimed the SCAD College Invitational title Saturday (Dec. 5) at the Chatham County Aquatic Center.

Wingate led the nine-team meet with 1,094.50 points. Florida Southern finished in second place with 537. Host Savannah College of Art and Design stayed in fourth with 461.50.

Chris Wilson finished in third place in the men's 500 freestyle (4:45.92) and fifth in the 200 butterfly (1:58.10). Nat Emmett also picked up a third-place finish in the 100 breaststroke (58.52) while Sam Crawford came in sixth (1:00.13). Stephen Sullivan picked up a fourth-place effort in the 200 individual medley (1:59.54) and finished in sixth place in the 200 backstroke (1:59.30). Bartos Scharmach also finished in seventh place in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:03.46.

SCAD returns to action Jan. 23 when they host Darton College in a 4 p.m. meet at the Chatham County Aquatic Center.
