Bees compete at ASU Distance Challenge

AUGUSTA, Ga. - The Savannah College of Art and Design men's cross country team competed in the ASU Distance Challenge held Saturday (April 4) afternoon at Westside High School.
Patrick Cooley had the best finish as he came in third place in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:59.54. In the other 800-meter run heat, teammates
Joe Dougherty (2:19.27) and
Nick Curtis (2:28.90) came in fourth and fifth place, respectively. Dougherty also finished in fifth place in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:43.17.
John Sutherland paced the Bees in the 5,000-meter run with a fourth-place time of 17:05.86 followed by
Ed McDaniel (fifth, 17:08.18), Curtis (sixth, 17:10.05),
Ben Harrison (eighth, 17:18.10) and
Kyle Downs (11th, 18:46.73).
SCAD returns to the track April 19 for the start of the 2009 The Sun Conference Track & Field Championships.
