KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Savannah College of Art and Design softball player
Courtney Mienkina has been named to another All-America team this season.
Mienkina, who was a first-team NAIA All-America selection last month, has been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association's 2009 Louisville Slugger/NAIA All-America second team.
Mienkina, a sophomore third baseman from Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, was named to the All-The Sun Conference team in 2009 and led the Bees with a .496 batting average (65-of-131) with a team-high nine home runs and 47 RBI. The four-time conference player of the week is ranked sixth in the NAIA in batting average, ninth in hits per game (1.625), 12th in total bases per game (2.650), 14th in RBI per game (1.175), 17th in slugging percentage (0.809), 25th in runs scored per game (1.025) and 38th in home runs per game (0.225).
Mienkina helped the Bees to a 22-18 record in 2009 and to their fourth trip in the past five seasons to the NAIA Softball National Championship held earlier this month in Decatur, Ala.
