Loren Bunting
Loren Bunting earned another award as he was named to the PING NAIA All-America third team.
NORMAN, Okla. - Savannah College of Art and Design men's golfer Loren Bunting has been named to the PING NAIA All-America Third Team as selected by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

The sophomore from Ocean Grove, Victoria, Australia, is the second underclassmen to be named to an All-America team in the program's history and is the second since SCAD rejoined the NAIA in 2003. Bunting is the third All-American in men's golf. Clint Colbert was named to the NCAA Division III All-America teams in 2001 and 2002 while Colin Kelley was named to the NAIA All-America in 2007.

Bunting, who was named to the NAIA All-America second team last month, recorded the second-lowest single-season scoring average this year. Bunting averaged 73.63 strokes in 24.5 rounds for the Bees, which finished the season ranked No. 7 in the NAIA. Bunting, who fired a season-low 67 in the first round of the Marine Federal Credit Union Intercollegiate Golf Championship in March, was named to three all-tournament teams during the season. Bunting's best overall finish in a tournament this season was second place. He finished as a runner-up in both the J. Lindberg Classic and the CBU Spring Break at Mesquite.

Bunting, who finished in the top 10 in six of the nine tournaments he played this season, helped the Bees earn an at-large berth to the NAIA National Championship this season for the fourth time in the past five years.  The Bees finished in 14th place at the national tournament earlier this month at the TPC at Deere Run in Silvis, Ill.
