SAVANNAH, Ga. - Savannah College of Art and Design men's lacrosse player Trey McKay has been selected to play for Wales in the upcoming 2009 Celtic Cup event.

The Celtic Cup, which will be contested in Edinburgh, Scotland, at Fettes College Aug. 11-16, will feature teams from France, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

McKay, a 5-foot-10, 165-pound sophomore from Houston, Texas, was one of 12 midfielders selected on the 27-man squad. McKay is representing Wales since his grandfather is originally from Wales. McKay, who still has many aunts, uncles and cousins living there, made his first trip as toddler and this will be his sixth visit.

As a midfielder for the Bees, McKay scored 12 goals in 2009 and assisted on four others as SCAD (6-12) advanced to the SouthEastern Lacrosse Conference Division II Tournament last spring.
