SAVANNAH, Ga. - Savannah College of Art and Design volleyball coach Melissa Batie announced the signing of Kylee Greenwood to a grant-in-aid to play for the Bees in 2010.

Greenwood was named the Player of the Year in the Greater Buckeye Conference this past fall after recording 420 assists, 154 digs, 139 total blocked shots, 125 kills and 112 service aces. The three-time all-district and four-time all-conference performer holds the school record for assists in a match (47), in a season (531) and in a career (1,438). The four-year team captain led her squad in assists, scoring and serving three times and blocking twice. She was also selected as one of the best sophomores in high school in 2007 by Prep Volleyball.

"Although Kylee is an impressive setter who will have the opportunity to set right away, it's her intangibles that set her apart," said Batie, who was named the 2009 The Sun Conference Coach of the Year. "She has a great court presence; she's vocal and runs the floor very well. We are very excited about her future here at SCAD."

Greenwood, who has played softball at Harding for the past three seasons, also has competed for eight years at the Junior Olympic level for the Oiler Attack Club. As a member of the club team, she competed at the USA Volleyball Junior National Championships in both 2008 and 2009.

SCAD earned its fifth trip in the past six seasons to the NAIA National Championship when the Bees won the 2009 The Sun Conference Tournament. The Bees went 28-8 last season and tied the university record for wins in a season.
