SAVANNAH, Ga. - Savannah College of Art and Design women's golf coach Amanda Workman announced that Anne Mason has signed a grant-in-aid to play for the Bees next season.

Mason, who is from Memphis, Tenn., has played golf for four seasons at Saint Agnes Academy for coach Cynthia Giannini. The three-time most valuable player has finished among the top three each season in the regional tournament, including medalist honors in both the 2008 and 2009 events. She finished fifth overall as Saint Agnes was runner-up at the
2008 TSSAA Division II Class AA State Championship. She also came in eighth place at the state tournament this fall.

"I am very excited to announce the signing of Anne for the 2010-2011 season," said Workman. "Anne is a powerful golfer who excels at ball striking. After seeing her play this summer in Rome, Ga., I was most impressed with her competitiveness and ability to manage her game in a very prestigious junior tournament. Anne is a great fit for the program and for SCAD."

SCAD, which is ranked No. 7 in the NAIA, opens its spring schedule Feb. 6 when they will travel to Kiawah Island, S.C., for the Kiawah Island Women's Golf Intercollegiate.
