BROOKLET, Ga. - The Savannah College of Art and Design equestrian team captured the Georgia Southern University Horse Show Saturday (Jan. 30) afternoon at Evermore Farms.
The Bees finished the event with 36 points, four more than second-place College of Charleston. SCAD also closed the margin to two points (181-179) over the defending region champion Cougars in the IHSA Zone 5, Region 3 standings.
Kelse Bonham tied for the show's high point rider honor as she won the open equitation over fences and placed second in open flat.
SCAD riders also recorded first-place finishes in three other events.
Caroline Ingalls won her class of open flat while
Taylor Brown came in first in novice flat.
M.J. Thompson also came in first in beginner walk-trot-canter.

Lindsay Rosentrater (advanced walk-trot-canter),
Kristin Ridge (walk-trot) picked up second-place finishes for the Bees while teammates
Holly Huitt (novice flat) and Courtney Squibb (novice flat) finished third in their events.
SCAD will return to action Saturday (Feb. 6) when the Bees travel to Tallahassee, Fla., for the Florida State University Horse Show.
