DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Savannah College of Art and Design women’s golf team is in seventh place after the first round of the Eagle Invitational Saturday (March 13).
The Bees, who are ranked No. 4 in the NAIA, shot a round of 341 on the par 72, 5,977-yard layout at The Club at Pelican Bay South Course. No. 2-ranked and tournament host Embry-Riddle (Fla.) University leads the 15-team field with a score of 322, four better than second-place Boston College.
Nikki Stewart and
Katina Ruest are tied for seventh place as they carded rounds of 81 while
Andrea Perez is tied for 21st after an 84.
Mary-Michael Burns is tied for 66th at 95 while
Amelie Mogard is tied for 68th place at 96.
The Bees also had two golfers competing as individuals. Lovissa Emmanuelsson is tied for 54th place with a 93 while
Jenna Schupska is in 75th after a 103.
Embry-Riddle’s Carrie Rowe leads the 80-player field with a 76.
The final round will tee off at 8 a.m. Sunday (March 14).
