Grand View takes 7-3 win over Bees

ORMOND BEACH, Fla. – Jeff Brooks drove in three runs as Grand View College defeated Savannah College of Art and Design 7-3 in a non-conference baseball game Monday (March 15) afternoon.
The Vikings improved to 6-7 while the Bees fell to 16-11. SCAD returns to action Tuesday (March 16) at 6 p.m. when they face Indiana Institute of Technology in Ormond Beach, Fla.
Grand View took a 2-0 lead in the second on Brooks’ two-run single. The Bees took a 3-2 lead with a three-run fourth inning. Will Cioffi and pinch hitter Eduardo Acosta had back-to-back RBI singles while Mark Stewart Jr. added a run-scoring double.
The Vikings tied the game at 3 in the fourth on a RBI double from Brooks.Grand View took the lead for good with a three-run fifth inning. Matt Dunn gave the Vikings a 4-3 lead on a single. Marc Mericle added an RBI single before Kyle Morgan drove in the final run on a bases-loaded walk.
Sean Wright earned the win for the Vikings with 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief while SCAD starter Bennie Sanchez (2-1) took the loss.
