Final Results

The SCAD Men's Swim Team, ranked third in the nation based on a NAIA Swimming and Diving Coaches Association poll release December 4^th, faced tough competition against two of the premier teams in the NCAA.  NC State's men were ranked 18^th in the nation based on latest NCAA College Swimming Coaches Association of America poll, while the University of Georgia men returned 16 letter winners from a team that finished third in the Southeastern Conference last season.
 
Returning to action after nearly three weeks of inactivity during the holiday break the SCAD Men's Swim Team provided an enthusiastic crowd with a fine effort against these elite teams, especially in the relay competitions at the Chatham County Aquatic Center.
 
In the 200 Medley Relay, the Bees' team of Ryan Searles, Marc Fleischmann, Mark Shvartsman, and Patrick Cardillo finished just 4.42 seconds (1:36.04) behind the winning UGA team.  In the 400 FR Relay the Bees team of Sean Sloat, Shvartsman, Zach Redpath, and Cardillo fell just 4.66 seconds shy of a second place finish.  The same was true for the 200 FR Relay team of S. Sloat, his brother, Ryan Sloat, Redpath, and Searles.  They were a mere 4.55 seconds out of a second place finish (1:27.91).  And finally, the 800 FR Relay team of Searles, Cardillo, Shvartsman, and S. Sloat took fifth place with a time of 7:24.06.
 
The best finish for the Bees' relay teams was in the 400 FR where S. Sloat, Shvartsman, Redpath, and Cardillo finished at 3:12.86, good for fourth place.  Bradley Green turned in a fifth place effort in the 1000 FR to provide the best individual effort of the day for SCAD.
 
The Bees return to action January 19 when they travel to Atlanta, Georgia to compete with Emory University.  SCAD returns to the Aquatic Center on January 26 in a dual meet with Darton College and Limestone College at 1 p.m.  Come out and support your Bees!
