2012-13 was an excellent year in the SCAD Athletics Program.  Equestrian, M&W Cross Country, M&W Lacrosse, M&W Swimming, W Tennis, W Golf, and M&W Track and Field each had representation at the national championships in those sports.  SCAD brought home one national championship in W. Lacrosse, and numerous individual honors on the region, conference, and national levels.  The Awards Ceremony recognizes the achievements on the team and individual levels.

Athletic Director, Doug Wollenburg, was the master of ceremonies at the event.  Assisting him in the presentations were faculty athletic representative, Robert Eisinger, and graduate candidate and athletic graduate assistant, Nicole Dumont.

Each athletic team recognized individual players who had meritorious seasons and earned accolades within that player's sport.  Applause and standing ovations by the 250+ attendees were common during the ceremony.

The last segment of the evening's program was the announcement of those athletes who received SCAD's highest meritorious accolades.  Those noteworthy achievements are listed below:

Paul E. Poetter Award (Male and Female Athletes of the Year):
Ryan Searles (Swimming) and Alazne Urizar (Golf)

Frances Wong Award (Coach and Assistant Coach of the Year):
    Coach:  Nichole Hannon (W. Lacrosse)
Assistant Coach:  Rebecca Gunn (W. Soccer)

Champion of Character Award:
    Brinton Nute

Athletic Directors Award (Male and Female Highest Grade Point Average):
    Pato Torello and Britney Lukowski

Congratulations to all of the SCAD athletes, coaches and staff for their 2012-13 season and postseason achievements.  It was truly a banner year for the Bees.
